A New Chapter in My Photographic Journey: Joining the Elite Ranks of WPJA

Dear friends, clients, and fellow photography enthusiasts,

Today, I am thrilled to share a milestone that marks a significant moment in my career: I have been invited to join the prestigious ranks of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). This recognition places me among the elite wedding photographers not only in the UK but internationally, and it is a true honour to receive such an acknowledgment.

For over 30 years, I have devoted myself to the art of photography, exploring its various forms from fashion and contemporary glamour to the intimate and evocative moments of wedding celebrations. Each photograph I capture tells a story, more than just frozen moments in time but windows to the emotions and narratives that weave through the occasions.

The WPJA is renowned for its dedication to authentic, documentary-style wedding photography—a perfect match for my passion for capturing genuine, unscripted moments. It's an association that champions the kind of work that I hold dear, emphasising storytelling and the raw emotional essence of the wedding day.

My First Photoshoot: A Day of Nervous Excitement and Unexpected Success

Reflecting on my very first photoshoot brings back a mix of nerves and excitement. The setting was TH1 Hair Studios, a perfect backdrop that added a unique charm to the day. Despite my inexperience, I decided to hire professional lighting to ensure the photos turned out well. As I set up the equipment, I couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed. Directing models was new territory for me, and the models themselves were just as nervous. Some of them were clients who had never done a day's modeling, while others were professional models provided by TH1 Hairdressing. The atmosphere was charged with a mix of anxiety and anticipation. One of the most important aspects of the shoot was making everyone feel at ease. I knew that capturing genuine emotion and natural poses required a relaxed environment.
